A timeline page is one WebSocket message. Only three tool-call fields were capped, so MCP results, file contents, errors and merged assistant rows could make a 20-entry or even a 1-entry fetch pass the outbound high-water mark. limitAgentTimelineItemContent is now one budgeted walk over any item: 64 KiB for tool calls, 256 KiB for other items. Over budget, the largest strings are cut to a shared length with a visible marker and oversized data URLs become a marker. Fetches also apply it to merged assistant and reasoning rows.
