paseo-bot[bot]andAlexander Adam 0ed57187a9 Keep fork owners in Gitea and Forgejo checkout names (#6829)
* fix(gitea): prefix fork PR branches with the owner

Two forks with the same branch name (say patch-1) ended up on the same
local branch. The gitea service had no buildPrLocalBranchName or
defaultCheckoutRefs, github has both.

getPullRequestCheckoutTarget also fell back to refs/heads/<name> on
origin for fork PRs. Thats the base repo's branch, not the fork's, so
a failed refs/pull fetch checked out the wrong branch without an error.

fixes #3515

* refactor(forge): share fork branch naming with github

moved the owner normalizer and the branch name builder to
utils/change-request-checkout.ts, gitea and github both use it.

github changes a bit: a fork PR with an unknown or unusable owner (eg
deleted fork) now gets pr-N/<branch> instead of the bare branch name,
which could collide with a local branch the same way #3515 did.

* fix(gitea): PRs from a deleted fork are still cross repo

the API drops head.repo once the fork is gone, we read that as a same
repo PR and fetched refs/heads/<name> from origin

* fix(gitea): handle AGit PRs and deleted head branches

neither has a branch on origin. forgejo reports refs/pull/N/head as
head.ref for both, so skip the refs/heads fallback and dont track
origin.

also try refs/pull/N/head on upstream for clones where origin is your
fork, like github does. that list lives in the shared util now.

* test: resolver harness uses the real branch helper

plus deleted forks and same repo PRs without an origin branch

* fix(gitea): collapse pull-ref-only heads to pr-N in local branch names

buildForkLocalBranchName still used the raw headRef even when it was
just the pull ref (refs/pull/N/head), which agit prs and deleted head
branches report as their headRefName. that gave local branches literal
names like refs/heads/refs/pull/3/head.

* fix(gitea): surface hasHeadBranch on the pr checkout target

resolveForkCheckoutFacts already knew whether a pr had a real head
branch (agit flow, or head.ref == the pull ref both mean no). now that
signal reaches buildPrLocalBranchName so worktree names and local
branches stop being named after the raw pull ref.

covers same-repo, fork with owner known, and deleted fork all with no
real head branch. added an end to end gitea-service test plus resolver
cases since the worktree slug follows localBranchName too.

* refactor(forge): one head ref kind on the checkout target

hasOriginHeadBranch and hasHeadBranch could describe contradictory
states (cross-repo checkout claiming an origin head branch). collapse
both into headRefKind: "branch" | "pull-ref" and derive origin
tracking in the resolver instead of storing it separately.

* fix(worktrees): avoid branch namespace conflicts in fork checkouts

Fork owner prefixes can name an existing branch as a parent, which Git rejects even when the full proposed name is unused. Allocate names against parent and child refs, suffixing the conflicting segment while preserving existing branches and fetched commits.

* test(worktrees): make fork fixture line endings deterministic

Windows Git converts the fixture checkout to CRLF when core.autocrlf is enabled. Set the repository fixture to preserve its written LF bytes so the content assertion checks the fetched patch on every platform. Reproduced the failure locally with inherited core.autocrlf=true and verified the corrected setup against that same configuration.

paseo-bot[bot] 17c5050216 Show a fork checkout's pull request in the workspace (#5221)
* Resolve a fork checkout's pull request by its head repository

A fork checkout's pull request lives in the parent repository, and its
head repository is the only thing that tells it apart from every other
fork's pull request on the same branch name. The per-checkout lookup
asked `gh pr list --repo <parent> --head <forkOwner>:<branch>`, which
`gh` cannot answer: it forwards the whole value as a head branch name,
so the query always came back empty. Every synchronous refresh then
overwrote the status the background poll had resolved, and the workspace
showed no pull request.

Fork checkouts now resolve through the REST pulls endpoint, the one
lookup that takes a head repository, and read each resulting pull
request through the ordinary view path. That also removes the
disambiguation the bare branch name would have needed: `--head main`
already returns thirty pull requests upstream, far past the ten-item
candidate page, so a fork checkout on a common branch name would still
have lost its own pull request.

The three existing fork tests asserted the unanswerable invocation while
their fake runner answered it regardless of the head value. They now run
against a runner that matches head refs the way `gh` does.

* Let a failed fork lookup surface, and keep the checked-out attempt

Two corrections to the fork pull request lookup.

An operational failure on the REST lookup, a rate limit, a timeout, a
DNS failure, was caught and returned as an empty list, so a refresh
reported "no pull request" for a checkout that has one. The lookup now
only handles what it can act on and lets the rest reach the caller, the
same way the non-fork list path does.

A fork branch reused for several attempts can carry the checkout's head
commit on an older pull request than the three the lookup reads. The
page is now requested in full and the attempts carrying the checked-out
commit are read first, so the bound on full reads no longer decides
which attempt the workspace can see.

* Use a function declaration for the head-commit predicate

* Use a function declaration for the test pull request helper

Mohamed Boudra aeb240be98 fix(server): batch cold-start PR status polls (#4025)
The initial retained poll could run before repository identity discovery settled, routing every workspace through the legacy per-target path. Defer each unresolved target independently and rejoin the shared polling grid once its identity is ready.

Desmond ChaiandMohamed Boudra a1ed5a8bad Stop PR status polling from rate-limiting your entire GitHub account (#3825)
* Batch GitHub PR status polls into aliased GraphQL requests

The PR status poller ran one `gh pr view` (GraphQL-backed) plus a
per-PR facts query for every workspace on its own timer, so cost
scaled linearly with workspace count and exhausted the 5,000 pts/hour
GraphQL quota machine-wide past ~50 workspaces (#3587, #2470).

Replace the per-target timers with a global scheduler that snaps poll
targets to a shared 5s grid and flushes all due targets together:

- One aliased discovery query per batch of up to 25 targets (grouped
by GH host) resolves PR identity, state, mergeability, and the merge
facts that previously required a second GraphQL call per PR.
- A second aliased query fetches statusCheckRollup contexts only for
the PRs that matched. Checks for merged/closed PRs are frozen and
cached by repo#number@headOid, so idle workspaces settle to the
  discovery query alone.
- A failed batch backs off every target in it with one request spent;
healthy aliases are recovered from the body gh still prints on
stdout when a single alias errors (ForgeCommandError now carries
  stdout for this).
- Targets whose origin slug/host is still resolving, and fork repos
whose PR lives in the parent, fall back to the legacy per-target
path for that cycle. Unowned lookups filter out other forks' PRs
  that share a branch name.

Fixes #3587. Addresses the API budget in #2470.

* fix(server): reserve the shared GitHub polling budget

Mohamed Boudra 1e2089cef7 Summarize pull request checks and group them by status (#3483)
* fix(app): keep check rows the same height with and without "Add to chat"

A check row was minHeight 32 plus 8pt of vertical padding, but the xs
Button in its trailing slot is 28pt tall. The button stacked on the
padding rather than fitting inside the row, so a row grew to 44pt the
moment "Add to chat" appeared and the list visibly shifted as rows
gained the button.

Rows are single-line by construction, so the row now declares a fixed
height instead of a floor a child can outgrow. That height comes from
CONTROL_HEIGHTS, the same source the button sizes from, so the two
cannot drift apart later. GitLab pipeline rows share this style and get
the fix too.

* feat(app): summarize pull request checks and group them by status

The checks section listed every check inline under a bare "Checks"
header with three count pills. On a repo with a real matrix that meant
a wall of undifferentiated rows that pushed the activity timeline off
the pane, and the pills made the reader add up numbers to work out
whether the run was actually in trouble.

The section now leads with the answer — a headline that names the
outcome, a one-line count breakdown, and a ring showing the statuses in
proportion — then groups the rows by status with failures first, and
scrolls in place past roughly eight rows instead of growing without
bound. Groups collapse individually.

The derivation lives in checks-summary.ts as one pure function, so the
headline, the ring, and the group labels cannot disagree about the same
run. The rendering, the row, and the check identity move out of pane.tsx
into an owned module; the pane now wires it and nothing more.

Running checks also gain a timing. formatCheckRunDuration required both
a start and a completion, so anything still going showed nothing at all.
It now measures an unfinished run to now. The wire deliberately carries
formatted strings rather than raw timestamps — there is a test asserting
check timestamps are stripped — so the daemon does the measuring and the
client only decides how to say it: a bare "2m" on a running row would
read as "took 2m", so those rows say "running 2m".

nllptrxandMohamed Boudra a8ebd390fa feat(forge): pluggable forge abstraction + GitLab and Gitea/Forgejo/Codeberg (#1913)
* refactor(forge): forge-neutral foundation (GitHub-only)

Decouple git-hosting from GitHub behind a neutral abstraction (issue #1616), GitHub-only for now; existing GitHub behaviour is unchanged.

- Forge manifest, neutral ForgeService contract, forge registry + resolver, and a client forge-module registry.
- GitHub code renamed to the neutral shape; PR/Issue attachment wording preserved.
- forge.search.response enums parse tolerantly (unknown kind/auth state degrade instead of breaking the client).
- createPullRequest reports typed CLI/auth errors instead of a generic message.
- forge-resolver host/remote caches are LRU-bounded.
- Forge host trust is explicit: only a known cloud host or a CLI-authenticated host is ever talked to; an unauthenticated GitHub Enterprise host fails resolution instead of routing to github.com.
- Docs: forge-providers guide, glossary and i18n forge-copy conventions, architecture and rpc-namespacing terminology.
- Vitest React Native mocks (unistyles, svg, linking, lucide) consolidated into shared aliased test-stubs.

* feat(forge): GitLab adapter, forge-aware UI, pipelines and approvals

GitLab adapter over the glab CLI on the neutral contracts: MR status, forge-aware UI, pipeline tree, and N-of-M approvals.

- threadIsResolved is part of the neutral timeline item.
- Pipeline load failures show an error instead of an empty section.
- Manual pipeline jobs render as pending.
- Fork/detached MR head pipelines are fetched by MR iid (glab ci get --merge-request).

* feat(forge): Gitea family adapter (Gitea, Forgejo, Codeberg)

One adapter over the tea CLI serving Gitea, Forgejo, and Codeberg on the neutral contracts.

- CI status aggregates commit statuses and Actions runs together.
- Gitea's terminal "warning" state maps to failure on server and client.
- Gitea Actions check details are reachable from the PR pane by workflowRunId.

* refactor(forge): localize compatibility handling

* test(forge): expect normalized GitLab facts

Mohamed Boudra ed07452c80 feat(checkout): merge PR action with real-GitHub e2e test (#814)
* feat(checkout): merge PR action with real-GitHub e2e test

Adds a `checkoutPrMerge` server RPC backed by `gh pr merge` (squash, merge,
or rebase) and surfaces three new actions in the git-actions menu —
"Squash and merge", "Create a merge commit", "Rebase and merge" — with
squash taking the primary slot when a PR is open and mergeable. Also
renames the existing local merge action to "Merge locally" to disambiguate
it from the new GitHub-side merge.

Adds an end-to-end test that creates a real temporary GitHub repo, opens a
PR via the daemon, polls until mergeable, calls `checkoutPrMerge`, and
verifies the merge landed on `main` — no mocks. The test pre-flights the
`delete_repo` scope so it skips cleanly on tokens that can't tear down,
and fails loud if cleanup ever errors so we don't leak repos.

PR status gains an optional `mergeable` field (`MERGEABLE | CONFLICTING |
UNKNOWN`) populated from `gh pr view --json mergeable`. The schema is
backward compatible — old payloads without the field still parse and
default to `UNKNOWN` via `z.catch`.

* Update PR status snapshot expectations

* refactor: collect git/checkout/PR feature into packages/app/src/git/

Move 21 git/checkout/PR files out of components/, hooks/, stores/, screens/,
utils/ flat-peer slop into a single packages/app/src/git/ module with
shrunk filenames (git-diff-pane.tsx -> diff-pane.tsx, use-git-actions.ts ->
use-actions.ts, etc).

Dedupe: drop the duplicate useGitActionHandlers from diff-pane.tsx — the
shared useGitActions hook is the single source. Drop the
buildGitActionsForPane wrapper. Collapse the merge-PR triple fan-out
(mergePrSquash/Merge/RebaseStatus) into one record keyed by
CheckoutPrMergeMethod. Streamline server-side single-use helpers
(dispatchStash/PullRequestMessage adapters, GitHubPullRequestMergeError
wrapper, legacy worktree test helpers).

Schema-additive only: messages.ts exports CheckoutPrMergeMethod and
PullRequestMergeable types; daemon-client.ts uses the typed alias.
Backward-compatible.

Net delta: 43 files, +219/-1212.

* fix(app): use GitHub icon for all merge-PR menu actions

* test: namespace temp GitHub repos under `paseotmp-` and centralize naming

Old prefixes (`paseo-checkout-ship-`, `paseo-e2e-`, `paseo-checkout-pr-merge-`)
collided with the `paseo-*` namespace of real repos, making bulk cleanup
unsafe. Switch every test that creates real GitHub repos to a single
unmistakable `paseotmp-` prefix, owned by one shared helper per test
boundary so no caller can name a repo outside the namespace.

- New `packages/server/src/server/test-utils/temp-github-repo.ts` exports
  `TEMP_GITHUB_REPO_PREFIX` + `createTempGithubRepoName(category)`; both
  server e2e tests (checkout-ship, checkout-pr-merge) consume it.
- `packages/app/e2e/helpers/github-fixtures.ts` locks the prefix internally
and now requires callers to pass a `category` instead of an arbitrary
  `prefix`. Updated pr-pane and composer-attachments specs accordingly.
