* perf(app): make diff line wrapping responsive on large changes
Wrapping eagerly shaped every expanded line before the viewport could paint. Estimate off-screen heights and measure rows as they enter the window, preserving the scroll anchor as geometry becomes exact. Add shared layout and browser benchmarks to track toggle latency and shaping cost.
* fix(app): preserve wrapped diff anchors across bounded relayouts
Resizing can move the viewed row outside the old materialization window. Keep its estimated wrap geometry available to anchor resolution, and measure the anchored row in the same layout pass so inaccurate estimates cannot discard the exact fragment or pixel offset.
* perf(app): optimize wrapped measurements and checkpoint native layout experiment
Compute full grapheme geometry only for final wrap fragments. Preserve shaped-text search behavior while bounding additive wrap probes. Keep the Android background layout experiment isolated from the normal diff renderer; native renderer integration and iOS bindings remain unfinished.
* perf(server): reduce cold diff generation work
Keep active diff reads owned across invalidation and wait for the initial watcher inventory before cold generation. Batch patch and blob reads while preserving per-file size isolation, bounded output, and daemon responsiveness. Avoid constructing fallback tokens when full-file highlighting already covers both sides.
* test(server): exercise oversized highlighted diff rejection
The single-line fixture now bypasses highlighting under the long-line guard, so it no longer reaches the structured payload limit. Use short dense lines to keep testing oversized rejection and continued socket usability.
* fix(server): queue fresh diffs for forced reads
A forced request following a repository mutation must not reuse an older active build. Invalidate that result and coalesce waiting callers onto one subsequent build. Give the cache a named object input and completed-value type.
* test(server): share deferred diff loader setup
* test(server): name completed diff cache setup
* refactor(server): use aliases for new diff imports
* fix(server): keep shipped diff imports resolvable by Node
The TypeScript build preserves path aliases without a runtime resolver. Restore relative imports for shipped code and declarations, and correct the server import guideline that prompted the regression.
* perf(app): reduce avoidable work when opening large diffs
Large snapshots were recursively reconstructed for reference stability, while native scroll worklets captured complete file models. Preserve identity at the data producers and prepare text for the visible window without rebuilding unchanged files.
* test(app): await commit diff query completion without polling
* chore(app): remove profiling artifacts from the source tree
* perf(app): keep large diffs responsive
Render file headers on the canvas and bound expensive text shaping to the active viewport while preserving sticky, hover, and horizontal-scroll behavior. Let native scroll cancellation arbitrate header presses so finger scrolling cannot expand files.
* test(app): assert canvas diff header accessibility
* test(app): assert canvas diff header semantics
Both advance-measurement paths measured a line by re-measuring a growing
prefix per grapheme, so one n-grapheme line shaped n^2/2 characters. The
web canvas measurer and the model fallback each carried a copy, and the
native Skia branch had the same shape via getRectsForRange(0, end) per
grapheme. Nothing caps line length client-side, so one long generated
line in a diff pinned the renderer main thread for minutes and the app
read as frozen while compositor animations kept running.
Advance measurement now has one owner in text-measurement.ts: 64-grapheme
chunks measured against an accumulated base, with chunk boundaries snapped
to shaping-safe seams so ligatures and contextual scripts keep their exact
prefix-measured widths (the xfi/Arabic contract in model.test.ts is
unchanged). A 1.2M-char line drops from a ~331-minute projection to under
a second; measurement-cost.test.ts pins the linear shaped-character
budget so the quadratic cannot come back.
Fast Refresh preserves refs while rerunning effects, so canceled paint requests must release their retained IDs or unseen diff regions stop rendering. Paint the final expanded body’s reserved boundary pixel because no following header owns that seam.
Reuse measured diff geometry when review controls open, keeping the interaction responsive on large changes. Preserve complete tab-track snapshots while exact content widths settle so new tabs and retained workspaces do not flash or truncate.
Keep diff headers and painted content on the same scroll clock while preserving native scrolling and independent per-file horizontal offsets.
Complete review, selection, typography, tree, and palette parity without returning line rendering to React.
